After much talk and consideration, a great deal of soul searching and research, I've decided to join the military.

Actually that's all bullshit.

I talked to the recruiter about two weeks ago, he told me to come see him on monday of the following week. It was on this day the information was relayed to me via his superior that tuesday was the deadline for GED applicants in order to maintain some sort of quota that they have. Within 48 hours I had tested, retested, screened, and decided a position. I was sworn in this past wednesday.

Much is certain.
I will leave on Tuesday Nov. 16th to the air force reserve base in Mass. so that I can spend the night and hop on a bus on Wed. morning. I will go to Ft. Sill in Oklahoma for 11 weeks of basic training. I will be in basic for 13 weeks because they allow a two week christmas vacation for presumably all enlisted personell in the US. After basic I will be shipped to Arkansas for 11 more weeks of training. After that period of roughly 6 months I will be stationed somewhere for the next 2-4 years.

They have a wishlist for me to fill. I choose 3 locations in the US and 2 locations worldwide which they will send me to if they can.
I am uncertain of where I'd like to go so if any of you that know me, know that I am open to suggestions.
Also for those of you that know me, know this:
I will carry you with me in my heart and in my mind, and as long as you make yourself available to get in touch with me we will see eachother again. I cannot predict how I will change and grow over the next few years, but it is likely that the changes will be drastic.
They may change the way talk and listen, but not the way I think and feel.
Ross is a soldier.
